Chronic Pain, Arthritis & Tendinitis
Treatment in Canmore
When pain becomes a daily companion, the right treatment changes everything. Lisa combines cold laser therapy, myofascial release, and active release techniques to address chronic musculoskeletal pain at the source — not just the symptoms.

Pain that doesn't go away needs a different approach
Chronic pain involves central sensitisation, tissue changes, and movement adaptation — all of which respond to specific manual and laser therapies.
Conditions we treat with chronic-pain protocols
Joint cartilage degradation causing pain, stiffness, and swelling — particularly knees, hips, hands, and spine. BIOFLEX laser reduces inflammation and promotes cartilage health without medication.
Autoimmune joint inflammation managed through gentle therapeutic massage, myofascial release, and laser therapy during flare-free windows to maintain mobility and reduce guarding.
IT band, rotator cuff, patellar, and Achilles tendinitis — treated with ART, deep tissue, myofascial release, and BIOFLEX laser.
Trigger point-driven referred pain across multiple muscle groups — often misdiagnosed as nerve pain. Trigger point therapy and myofascial release address the source directly.
Cervicogenic and tension headaches driven by sub-occipital trigger points, neck tension, and forward head posture — addressed through cervical massage, ART, and postural taping.
Common questions
Can I combine laser therapy and massage in the same session?
Yes. BIOFLEX laser therapy and massage therapy are frequently combined in a single session — the laser addresses cellular-level inflammation while the massage releases the structural holding patterns around it. Most clients book the 90-minute Laser + Massage combination for chronic pain.
Is therapeutic massage safe if I have rheumatoid arthritis?
Yes, with appropriate modifications. Treatment is scheduled around your flare pattern, and pressure is calibrated to your current state. Lisa will not work on acutely inflamed joints but can address surrounding tissue and the nervous system to reduce overall pain load.
How long before I notice improvement? —
Most clients notice meaningful change within 3–6 sessions. Chronic and arthritic conditions typically benefit from an ongoing maintenance schedule rather than a fixed number of visits.
Cellular-level inflammation reduction without medication.
Sustained pressure releasing chronic tension patterns.
Functional tissue work for adhesions and movement restriction.
Specialised chronic pain protocols since 1998.
